2025 Chevy Silverado HD in a desert

1. 6.6L V8 Gas Engine

The Chevy Silverado 2500 is powered by a 6.6L V8 gas engine and an electronically controlled Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. This combination creates 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm.

2. 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel Engine

Some drivers require more intense towing capabilities from their Silverado 2500, which makes the available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine a great option. The 6.6L Duramax engine generates 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm. This engine has a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds on the Silverado 2500 crew cab model.

3. Trailering Package

Towing is a breeze in the 2025 Silverado HD thanks to the Chevrolet Trailering Package! The new Silverado 2500 HD’s Trailering Package comes with the following features:

  • A standard hitch
  • A trailering hitch platform
  • A 2.5-inch receiver hitch
  • A 7-wire electrical harness
  • 4-pin and 7-pin connectors
  • A 7-pin sealed connector

Hitch Guidance is also included in the Silverado 2500’s Trailering Package. Hitch Guidance is a digital feature that uses a rear vision camera to visualize your trailer and hitch when aligning the two. You can also use Hitch Guidance to check on your hitch and trailer’s attachment while driving.

4. OnStar Basics

OnStar Basics is a safety package that’s included in the Silverado’s Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. OnStar Basics contains several emergency resources, like live traffic updates and Automatic Crash Response. Automatic Crash Response contacts an OnStar advisor if it detects that your truck has been involved in an accident.

5. Lane Departure Warning

Lane Departure Warning is an assistive safety feature that monitors your Silverado’s position in its designated lane. When it detects you unintentionally veering out of that lane, it alerts you to re-center your truck. Lane Departure Warning does not activate if your turn signal is on.

6. Durabed

The Chevy Silverado 2500 HD has a high-strength steel Durabed that makes it easier than ever to haul all types of cargo. This truck bed is made with roll-formed steel and has twelve cargo tie-downs inside. These tie-downs are rated at 500 pounds per corner, making it possible to secure heavy items in place.

7. Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System

The 2025 Silverado 2500 comes with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system for all of your entertainment needs. This system includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, allowing you to pair your phone to the truck for a more personalized experience. Bluetooth audio streaming and voice command pass-through are also part of the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system.
